Why do I get an "Access Denied" error when trying to access areas/items in Prime?
This error is usually caused by one of the following items.
Don’t use "Back" browser button
Just like banking or shopping web sites, using the Back button can invalidate your browser’s session. Use the Home button, course tabs and breadcrumbs to navigate around in Prime.
Don’t open multiple browser tabs or windows from Prime links.
Using these duplicate tabs or windows opened from a single login session can break the session's authentication.
For security purposes, if more than 30 minutes passes before you click on something in Prime, your session is "dropped". Only clicks count. Typing in a text box on a discussion forum, exam or survey does not reset the clock until you submit the text.
Closing the browser without logging off first.
Sometimes old and invalid 'temporary' session information is retained by your web browser. Clear your browser’s history.
Don't block cookies.
Your web browser must be set to accept 'cookies' from the Downstate web sites. ('Cookies' are small text files that are left on your hard drive, used by the web browser and website server, and that contain basic information about your session linking the two.). Make sure your web browser is set to accept cookies.
