Changing your NetID password

NetID passwords expire and must be changed periodically. You will receive email notifications as the expiration date approaches.

You can change your NetID password two ways:

1. Windows computer

This must be performed on a domain-connected computer on campus.

  • Press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys simultaneously
  • Click on Change a password
  • Follow the on screen instructions

2. Office 365 portal

This may be done from a web browser either on or off campus.

  • Click the Settings button in the menu bar. The Password option will be visible.

  • Enter your old password and select a new password.

Password Requirements

Your password must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of eight characters
  • Must be comprised of at least THREE of the following four character types:
    • upper-case letters (A-Z)
    • lower-case letters (a-z)
    • numbers (0-9)
    • symbols (space, ! @ # $ % ^ & * - + / ~ , )
  • Must not be the same as your username
  • May not have been previously used as a NetID password
