Introduction to the Library Web Page

 

The Library Web Site is located at https://www.downstate.edu/education-training/medical-research-library/index.html. If you routinely use the institutional web site, click on "Education & Training" on the navigation bar at the top of the page.  The Library is the last choice in the first column.

 

Items of interest in the Navigation Grid

  • Information Resources: databases for seeking information for research projects (discussed further under a separate heading). This is where you will find PubMed and CINAHL
  • Evidence-Based Medicine Resources: databases and web resources specifically oriented to the practice of Evidence-Based Practice
  • Web Resources: resources arranged around a particular topic.
  • Education Resources: resources of interest to specific populations on campus. There are lists related to the School of Health Professions.
  • Tutorials: online help for Library resources
  • Service Hours: the hours Library service desks are staffed
  • About Us: Information about Library policies and services
  • EndNote: a program that allows you to manage citations and create bibliographies
  • Reference Request: form to fill out to get assistance from a librarian
  • Interlibrary Loan: request form for items not owned by the Library (discussed further under a separate heading)
