Sending an Encrypted Message to an External Recipient

 

There are 2 options to send an encrypted message to someone outside SUNY Downstate as follows:

OPTION 1

When composing a new e-mail message click the Options tab, then the drop down under Permission.

In the drop down under Permission choose Encrypt Message.

You should then see a MailTip above the From field that confirms that the message will be encrypted.

Compose your message as normal and click Send when ready.

OPTION 2

Type the word Confidential in the Subject field. Compose your message as normal and click Send when ready.
