Office 365: Side By Side Mail and Calendar View in Outlook

Side By Side Mail and Calendar View in Outlook

To display a quick view of your calendar and appointments on the right side of the Home screen:

Click on the View Tab, then in the layout section on the ribbon, click on the To-Do Bar and choose Calendar.

Your calendar and appointments will now be displayed on the right side of the Home Screen.

To see a more detailed view of your calendar in another window follow these steps:

  1. Click the Mail selection. Depending on your Outlook settings, Mail could be a text item at the bottom left of your screen or an envelope icon:
  2. Right-click on the Calendar icon, then select Open in New Window.
  3. When you first do this, one window will likely overlap the other.

Size the windows and move them around however you want them to look

You now have your inbox and calendar displayed at the same time!

Saving Your Outlook Display Settings

If you want the calendar and mailbox windows to display next to each other every time you launch the Outlook, you’ll need to save your settings. To do this, go to File and choose Exit to exit Outlook instead of clicking the Close (“X”) button. This way, your settings are saved. The next time you open Outlook, your calendar and mail windows will open side by side.
